Bann Roy was born in India and moved to Los Angeles in 1992. After earning a Master’s degree from USC, Roy began his career as an editor for television shows. Over the next 11 years Roy directed several noteworthy documentaries like Pepino, For Here or To-Go?, Six Weeks and Taking the Heat, which earned him critical acclaim and awards. Roy is currently in post-production of a cine-verité documentary, titled Three Short Stories from Hollywood & Wilcox, which depicts the brutal love story of a septuagenarian homeless couple. Despite the persistent rumors, it has been proved that Bann Roy was not an elephant trainer during his youth in India. He actually trained water buffaloes.
